What is ZEDZ: Defense?
ZEDZ is a third person shooter and tower defense game, with a rpg twist. Our project has been in production now for almost two whole months! Things are starting to come together and we are making great progress which is exciting!

We have a bunch to show when it comes to art and models this time around! We’ve made some great progress with the zombie enemy models (just in time for Halloween).

We have completed models for the basic grunt enemy type. These guys will have multiple possible combinations when it comes to body and head pieces to give them a bit more variety. You can check them out here:

Here’s a sneak peak of our tank enemy, you don’t want to mess with this big guy. Next up for him will be animating and texturing.

We’ve also started putting together the first level which is based on a farm. We have a range of buildings and general farm clutter going on, and we should be ready for testing with this level shortly. We’re currently in the process of modelling a few more assets for this one; foliage, vehicles, and other farm-y clutter. We’re also sorting out the terrain which will bring everything together nicely! We will be posting some images of the farm over the next week, so make sure you follow us to see them.

COMPLETED:

  • Tweaks to the zombie AI to prepare for hordes and waypoints

  • Made some behind the scenes changes; library load improvements, sound engine adjustments, path finding fixes, etc

  • Various models for farm level.

  • Grunt zombie models

UP NEXT:

  • Terrain for the farm level

  • Additional farm clutter models (plants, vehicles etc)

  • Continue working on the in game menus

  • We plan to do some temporary UI Placement for testing purposes.

  • Implementing the interact and generic class picking.

  • Repairing & Upgrading Structures

  • Opening Shops and Currency Functions

  • Inventory and Storage systems

  • Eat Brains
